Insurance and Therapy Referrals

If your child is covered by an insurance plan, we will verify your insurance benefits before beginning services. This verification process includes contacting your primary insurance and secondary insurance providers if you have one or both. 

First Steps is a participating provider with many insurance companies. For insurances that are not in-network, we are able to file a family’s out-of-network benefits. If your child does not have health insurance or if your insurance does not cover therapy sessions, we offer a self-pay discount for our services. 

First Steps accepts most major insurance plans, and we may be in-network or an out-of-network provider for other smaller plans. Please reach out to discuss your family’s individual needs and our therapy team will work with you to determine the right care plan for your child.

First Steps is also a vendor for services with Tennessee’s Early Intervention System (TEIS).

Call us at 615-690-3091 and ask to speak to our therapy staff, or contact us to inquire about therapy options. Ask for information on our therapy services. We will help determine the best payment strategy for your special case and work out a schedule with you.
