About Our Outreach Program
The First Steps Community Outreach Program supports families by providing parent coaching and learning opportunities for children with disabilities or delays, age birth to three in home-based and other community settings.
Our highly trained and qualified Developmental Therapists utilize a coaching model as they work with caregivers to embed opportunities to address their child’s goals within their natural environment and everyday routines.
Developmental Therapy is a service that is provided in the home, in childcare centers, in hospitals, libraries and other community settings, and via telehealth.
The Developmental Therapist can further support caregivers by partnering with other people in the child’s life, such as daycare teachers, therapists from other fields, social workers, and many others. In addition, Nashville has a growing immigrant community, and our program provides Developmental Therapy with bilingual and multicultural therapists who engage the family in their native language.
Community Outreach Program Director

Our Community Outreach Program provides coaching and support to families with children with special needs. We also partner with interpreters to provide a high-quality intervention for non-English speakers. We would be thrilled and honored to serve your family as well!
